The Stardust - Location
Sri Lanka is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful islands in the world. It is home to a spectacular range of wildlife - habitats range from the broad coastal plain and wetlands to jungle and the central highlands with peaks rising to 7,000 meters.
Arugam Bay (Arugambay) is close to Pottuvil in south east of the island, on one of the most beautiful and unspoiled tropical coasts in the world. Inland is a band of jungle 70km wide. Wild elephants roam the coastal plain and the small but delightful Lahugala National Park about 10 miles inland. An astonishing range of birdlife migrates to the wetlands and the huge Yala National Park which starts about 20 miles to the south.
